We are so grateful for this rainy fall season and beautifully changing colors. After a viciously hot, smokey summer, we welcome it wholeheartedly. During these times of rain and colder temperatures, let us not forget about those without shelter or heat. Nevada County’s homeless population has been growing over the last few years, including families with minors, U.S. military veterans, and those living with severe mental illness. To help those in need, Elevation has brought back its Winter Coat Drive!
This year we have partnered with Nevada County’s local Hospitality House, our leading homeless community center. For extra incentive, Elevation2477 is offering a 1$ Elevation ⅛ with every brand new (must have a tag) water-proof coat. Limit one coat per person, so tell your friends and family! If you have a gently used, water-proof jacket, you may also donate it and be eligible for our 1$ pre-roll promotion (limit 3 per person).
We believe strongly in our duty as a Nevada County business to give back to our own community. Over the years, we have taken pride in donating time, money, and resources to local organizations that aim to better our community. When considering making a donation, think of what you would need to survive a harsh winter. While fancy designer jackets are fun, they are not ideal. The Hospitality House seeks men’s and women’s full-size water-proof jackets primarily, with only a tiny amount needed for children sizes. If you are hoping to donate this year, this is your chance! Clean out that closet and make a difference today. The first step towards a better tomorrow is embracing our potential in making that a reality.
